3. Early Life and First Contact with Technology
Around Pre-KG, there was a computer at home belonging to his father. Dhanush watched his father use it, then tried turning it on himself the next day, curious and experimenting by pressing buttons. His brother later taught him basic activities like Microsoft Paint. His curiosity toward technology existed before he understood what technology actually was, he was interested because what happens if I press this. That curiosity became a recurring pattern throughout his life.
4. The First Major Computer Problem
Around 4th grade, his father had the family computer repaired, and Dhanush became its primary user mainly for gaming. He eventually corrupted the Windows installation. At the time he had no Wi-Fi, no other computer, and limited technical knowledge. After Wi-Fi was installed, he searched YouTube for fixes, borrowed a cousin's laptop to create a Windows installer on a pendrive, and it took about six months before his computer worked again. He learned computer repair not through school but because his computer was broken and he wanted to understand how to make it work again. This became the foundation of his practical, self-directed learning style.
5. The Beginning of Technical Experimentation
After becoming more comfortable with computers, Dhanush explored technology through YouTube tutorials, experimenting with things like Termux and cybersecurity-related concepts for example creating phishing links before understanding what phishing was. This was curiosity-driven experimentation, not formal cybersecurity knowledge. His pattern was to see something interesting, find a tutorial, try it, observe, get curious how it works, learn more, then move to another technology. This pattern has continued throughout his technical development.
6. COVID as a Major Turning Point
During COVID, Dhanush spent significant time gaming, using computers, watching tech content, experimenting, exploring new software, and learning from YouTube.
